Let me tell you, babbbbbbyyyyyyyy... Menopausal rage is so powerful. You hear a lot about how angry "those women" are. You hardly hear at all about how much you can get done when you channel that energy. I had a problem with the doctor's office and an Rx refill this week - because an NP decided I couldn't get my meds refilled for two more weeks. I'll spare you the details, but it was a 30-day Rx that I make last 90 days, so her request was ridiculous. The pharmacist knew it. The on-call doctor I called knew it. The pharmacy tech knew it. My friend who was with me knew it. But no one would do anything about it. So after 2.5 hours at Walgreen's, I went home - And wrote a scathing letter to my doctor's office, cc'ing my physician and the head of the clinic. The next morning, I woke up to three emails and two phone calls. 1 - From the NP, saying she fixed it. No apology. Nothing. 2 - From my doctor, cc'ing the NP, telling her to cut the crap (this is the second time she's done this). 3 - From the clinic lead, inviting me to call her back. I ignored all of the emails. Then the phone started ringing. 1 - The clinic lead wanting to make sure I felt "heard" and hoping to chat with me about how they plan to prevent this in the future. 2 - The NP herself, apologizing. Now, I don't know about you, but prior to menopause, I wouldn't have made a fuss. I would have just gone home, waited the two weeks to get my meds and suffered. But this version of me? HELL NO. Bottom line: They're scared I'm going to sue. Their legal team is making them kiss my ass. And I got a 90-day Rx (instead of normal 30). USE YOUR VOICE. God gave you everything you need to get what you want and deserve. No more apologies for being intelligent, powerful and on point.
