✔ Foundational Rule of Credit Cleaning
If the information cannot be VERIFIED 100% by the furnisher within the time limit, the law requires it to be DELETED — not corrected.
Most people skip this. This is why they fail.
✔ Identity Theft = the Nuclear Button
If ANYTHING is the result of identity theft, you can force all three bureaus + the furnisher to DELETE the item — not investigate it.
The law behind this is FACTA Section 609(e) and FCRA 605B.
Once you file an identity theft report (police report or FTC report), the bureaus must:
- Block the item within 4 business days
- Notify the furnisher
- Remove the account, balance, history, and inquiries tied to it
- Prevent it from reappearing
This is why identity theft is the strongest route.
