Hello there, and thank you so much for your interest in our Rabbit Husbandry Program at Vontro Funny Farm! Each class is 4 weeks long. Currently we have a course on rabbits but will add Ducks and quail. In the next month. Vontro rabbit husbandry start date- choice of June 1st , Aug 4rd, Sept 1st, Oct 1st and Nov 2nd Lesson will cover: What Is Animal Husbandry, Rabbit Breeds, Fur Types & Life Expectancy, Domestic Rabbits vs. Wild Rabbits, Rabbit Genetics, Basic Breeding, Record Keeping & Showmanship As part of the 4-week program, participants will have the opportunity to take a rabbit home during the course to foster! This is not a mandatory part of the course. Rabbit selection will depend on availability at the time. Lionhead lops, mostly lop and some larger breed rabbits will be among choices. Local participants will be required to sign a care waiver agreeing to provide proper daily care for their rabbit. Adults will agree to share the care. Cage, water bottles and 4 weeks of food and hay will be included.
