Until one night…Super Bowl XLII.
Eli Manning. The Giants. And that catch.
I was in the Army, stationed in Hawaii at the time — in training, so I didn’t get to see a single snap.
But I do remember score updates echoing across base like whispers of destiny.
We all wanted to know — would they actually pull it off?
Turns out… perfection slipped through the fingers of greatness.
The Helmet Catch lives rent-free in NFL history.
The Pats went 18-1. One of the greatest teams ever — but not the greatest ending.
🔥 Fast forward to tonight — not quite the same epic stakes, but I'm sure both their epic Super Bowl match-ups will be mentioned.
