The Christian Counselor
A Christian counselor is essentially a mental health professional who integrates Christian faith, biblical principles, and prayer.
I focus on the whole person – mind, body, and spirit, recognizing that spiritual well being is deeply connected to emotional and mental health.
Biblical Foundation:
As a Christian counselor I use scripture and biblical teachings as tools to guide sessions, address issues like anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and trauma. I help clients align their lives with Christian values.
Integration of Faith:
Unlike secular therapy, Christian counseling explicitly incorporates prayer, discussions of scripture, and a faith based moral framework into the therapeutic process.
I am a professional Christian counselor, though I'm not licensed. I was called by God in 2015 to be a Christian counselor. I went to school and graduated with a Ph.D of Philosophy in Christian counseling. I believe God called me to help people because I have 15 yrs of prior personal experience with mental, addiction, and suicidal thoughts. In those years I was in and out of psychiatric hospitals, put on so many medications that I lost count. I have attempted suicide twice by overdosing on pills. I had seen several psychiatrists but they did nothing to help me. They would ask me about my week and that was it. I lost my wife to divorce and she got custody of my daughter. I have also lost many people that I loved dearly to different illnesses.
Christian counseling is a way for people who want their mental health support to also align with their spiritual beliefs.
I don't force my beliefs on anyone I counsel. I counsel believers and unbelievers. I will not judge you. Everything is confidential. I don't even talk to my wife about anything plus she knows not to ask.
The Holy Spirit guides me and the Bible is my manual.
