Hi everyone — I’m trying to locate a decades-old New England TV news story (possibly from an ABC affiliate, roughly 30–50 years ago) about a psychic group that reportedly issued an “if–then” statement involving hurricane formation or redirection as a demonstration or threat.
The target or motive I no longer remember — it might have been political, social, or even ideological — but the general idea was that this individual or group claimed they could influence the weather through collective psychic focus, and they publicly tied that ability to a real-world consequence if/then whatever their agenda was.
All I remember is my surprise that such parapsychology related topic is mentioned in mainstream media so I paid close attention as a devoted follower of this genre but never heard of such reporting ever since.
After extensive searches through news archives and databases, I’ve found no recordof such a broadcast. Related material includes:
- 1960s–80s Project Stormfury reports on scientific hurricane seeding;
- modern “weather weapon” conspiracy coverage (HAARP, etc., repeatedly debunked);
- parapsychology and CIA Stargate Project pieces on remote viewing and influence experiments — but no psychic-weather stories.
It may have been a local affiliate piece that was never digitized or perhaps conflated with fictional media from that era.
While checking this with Grok, Perplexity, etc, we also explored terminology. This isn’t premonition or clairvoyance (seeing the future) but an attempt to influence which future unfolds — collapsing a probability field toward a chosen outcome, especially via shared focus (“where two or more meet in my name…”).
In current literature this seems closest to collective intention or group intention, the concept studied in PEAR’s mind–matter–interaction research and Lynne McTaggart’s Intention Experiments.
➡ Questions for the group:
- Has anyone ever come across anyrecord, mention, or memory of a psychic group making such a claim or being covered by New England news in that era?
- And in parapsychology circles, is collective intention the most accepted term for this group-based influence on future outcomes, or is there a more precise phrase? This is my main objective to identify the term that precisely covers the work how an individual or a group can focus INTENT to collapse quantum superposition into a specific desired outcome.
Much like the experiments about RNG or Random Number Generator experiments. Or card tricks we can see sometimes in movies ( e.g. Maverick 1994) or even our group leader’s story Marco mentioning his experience with a card guessing if I recall correctly from one of the available class I had access to process.
Thanks in advance for your insights and memories!
