"Why I started Skool (founder story)
Hey, I’m Sam - CEO and Co-Founder of Skool 👋
I grew up on the early internet — forums where you could find anything, learn anything, and connect with people who were deeply passionate about even the most obscure interests.
Whether it was computers, Counter-Strike, or race cars, you could find your people, build real friendships, and even meet up in real life. It was amazing to see people from different countries, ages, and backgrounds united by a shared passion.
Over time, that magic faded. Social media shifted toward endless content instead of real community. But the desire is still there. People still crave connection. They want to find others who care about the same things and build something meaningful together.
That’s why I started Skool.
I wanted to make it simple for anyone to earn a full-time income by building a community around what they love. No complicated tech stack. No integrations. No overwhelm. Just a few clicks and you’re up and running. All you need is passion and the willingness to show up.
Our belief is simple: if you remove the technical burden, more people can build communities—and more people can find their people.
Skool’s mission is to help 1 billion people find community.
Because when you find your thing, you find your people—and your life becomes richer. We believe that’s something the world is missing. And we’re here to bring it back.
!!! YAY !!!
How cute is young Sam?
🤓 Thanks Sam and Team! 💖 I truly love Skool 😺
