Attachment theory showed how early relationships shape whether we feel safe with others. But there's a deeper layer: a preverbal, existential attachment that shapes whether being itself feels safe. What traditions called enlightenment may be the resolution of this wound — not a mystical achievement, but a developmental milestone.
This is not about fixing yourself. It's about understanding what was never broken — and why it doesn't feel that way yet.
