The Word of God - Hebrews 4:12-13
The Word is relevant (alive) and active (dynamic). It transcends time and is as applicable today as when it was written.
Q: How does that contradict the dominant view that the Bible is dusty, old, and irrelevant?
God’s Word also has the power to penetrate and judge the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts.
Q: What emotional or spiritual defenses may rise up as God’s Word challenges your heart?
It can cut us and “hurt” at times, but that is a good thing as it encourages us to repent and change.
We will all have to give an account to God, not only for our outward actions, but for our inner-life as well.
Q: What does this scripture communicate about God’s reign in our lives?
