Comfort VS Emotional Discomfort
Discomfort is good for us, both physically and emotionally. Now, it's key to remember that being emotionally uncomfortable isn't the same as being emotionally unsafe. We definitely don't want to cause emotional harm to our family or friends, like springing an emotional ambush, or using sarcasm or criticism that hurts someone's feelings. Emotional discomfort, on the other hand, is a different thing. It's about willingly stepping into situations that push our comfort zones. Like, say, joining a new group, or showing up to a community event where you don't know anyone. Sure, it might be a bit nerve-wracking, but that's the point. It's about building resilience, much like how physical discomfort helps us grow stronger.
