📅 Help Pick Our New Weekly EA Study Day!
I've temporarily paused our recurring weekly study sessions while I gather feedback from the community. I'll leave this poll open through the end of July so everyone has a chance to vote. My goal is simple: find a day that works for the most people. I'm happy to host sessions on any day except Saturday, since that's reserved for family time. If your ideal day isn't listed or you have a specific preference, please leave a comment below. I'm happy to be flexible! I'd love to build a community of like-minded, goal-oriented tax professionals and EA candidates who encourage each other, stay accountable, and celebrate passing each exam together. Thank you for voting! I can't wait to start studying with all of you. 📚🎉

Why I Started This Community
I started studying for the EA exam thinking I'd study like I always had but the longer I have studied the more I have wanted to find a study partner or a small group to learn with where I felt like I could ask the "dumb" questions and not actually feel dumb! Everyone was enthusiastic at first. "We should study together!" "I'll be there!" "Let's meet every week!" But life happens, schedules change, and before long I found myself studying alone again. So instead of waiting for someone else to build the kind of community I wanted, I decided to create it myself. Whether you're studying for Part 1, Part 2, or Part 3, my hope is that this becomes a place where we actually show up for each other. No pressure. No judgment. No one left to study alone. Just future Enrolled Agents helping future Enrolled Agents stay accountable, ask questions, celebrate wins, and keep moving forward one chapter at a time. If that's the kind of community you've been looking for... Welcome. I'm glad you're here. 💙

📢 Oregon Update for Enrolled Agents
Oregon has created a new Registered Enrolled Agent (REA) designation that makes it easier for federally credentialed Enrolled Agents to prepare Oregon personal income tax returns for compensation. Under the new rules, an EA can apply with the Oregon Board of Tax Practitioners for REA registration without taking Oregon’s tax preparer examination. To apply, an EA will generally need to: • Hold a current federal Enrolled Agent credential • Have a current PTIN • Submit the Oregon REA application • Provide a signed copy of the front and back of their EA card • Pay the $125 initial registration fee Once approved, the EA is registered with Oregon as a Registered Enrolled Agent and can prepare Oregon personal income tax returns for compensation under that designation. Registration expires May 31 each year and must be renewed annually. I would not describe the $125 as an “annual fee” because $125 is the stated initial registration fee, and renewal fees may be established separately. ✨ For those of us working toward the EA credential, this is another great example of the doors that federal credential can open.
