Baby Is Coming Home! 🐘🎉
After spending most of her life in captivity, 34-year-old Baby the elephant is finally on her way to Global Sanctuary for Elephants in Brazil!
The transport team has arrived, Baby has settled into her travel crate, and the team is ready to start the journey to Sanctuary.
For years, Baby lived surrounded by crowds, rides, noise, and concrete. Soon, she will experience something she hasn't known in decades:
🌿Space to roam
🌿Quiet surroundings
🌿Natural habitat
🌿The opportunity to simply be an elephant
The trip will cover more than 1,900 kilometers, and the team will travel at Baby's pace, stopping whenever she needs rest, food, water, or care.
What touches my heart most is that we don't fully know who Baby is yet.
Her caretakers describe her as curious, expressive, energetic, and perhaps even a little mischievous. Much of her true personality may still be waiting to emerge after years of living in an environment that never allowed her to fully be herself.
Sometimes freedom isn't just about where you are. Sometimes it's about finally having the chance to discover who you've always been.
