This week, we’re starting with number 1 from the “14 Ways to Get Out of Survival Mode” flyer:
Create safety first.
When we hear the word “safety,” we often think of physical safety. But your nervous system is also constantly scanning for emotional safety, relational safety, and environmental safety.
Survival mode can show up when your body feels like it always has to be on guard. You might feel tense, rushed, irritable, numb, overwhelmed, or like you can never fully relax.
Today’s reflection:
What is one thing that has been keeping your nervous system on high alert lately?
You do not have to fix it today. Just noticing it is a powerful first step.
If you feel comfortable, share one thing you’re noticing below.
