Tight shoulders before 9am. Sound familiar? πŸ˜…
I woke up this morning already braced. Shoulders up, jaw set β€” and I hadn't even looked at my phone yet.
Before the emails. Before any decision. Before the day had actually started.
This is what I think we don't talk about enough: the nervous system doesn't wait for something hard to happen. It's constantly predicting. Scanning. Holding. And for a lot of us, that low-level tension is just... the baseline. It's so familiar it doesn't even register as anything unusual anymore. πŸ’›
What I've learned β€” through breathwork, through my own healing, through sitting with a lot of women in this work β€” is that the body doesn't respond to logic. You can *know* you're safe and still feel tense. You can *know* something is fine and still feel dread sitting in the pit of your stomach.
The shift doesn't come from understanding why. It comes from actually being in your body long enough for it to feel safe enough to soften. 🌬️
So if you're noticing that tight jaw, or the breath that sits high and shallow in your chest all day β€” that's not a personality trait. That's not "just how you are." That's a nervous system that learned to brace.
And it can also learn to let go. 🌿
What does your body actually feel like right now, if you pause and check in?
