12 steps
Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol that our lives had become unmanageable.
Step 10
Step 10 is about continuing to check yourself and quickly correcting your behavior when you’re wrong. In different wording: Keep taking an honest look at yourself each day. When you make a mistake, hurt someone, or act in a way you know isn’t right, recognize it, own it, and make it right as soon as you can. A simple way to remember Step 10 is: Review → Admit → Correct → Continue.

Step 8 living a sober life
“I make an honest list of the people I have hurt through my actions, words, neglect, or dishonesty, and I become genuinely willing to repair that harm whenever it can be done in a healthy and responsible way.” Think of the process like this: 1. Awareness – Who was affected? 2. Ownership – What did I do? 3. Willingness – Am I prepared to make it right? 4. Preparation – How can I repair the harm responsibly? 5. Action – In Step 9, you begin making those amends when appropriate.
