Just imagine trying to return to your neighborhood after an emergency but the police will not allow you to enter without proof you live there, and you have no proof with you. How frustrating, and the time it will take to replace the documents🥴. This tip is an easy but important one, stay ready.

I will start, I have lived through a hurricane, earthquakes, blackout, snow event, high winds event due to a tornado and have deployed to a combat zone in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I feel I could be better prepared with emergency supplies, stockpile of foods, I am currently working on stashing cash regularly and consistently and keeping my gas tank half full, bit by bit.

In 2006 when I was stationed on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, I experienced my first earthquake. It was a 6.7 magnitude and the biggest aftereffect was a loss of power. It proved troublesome because we could not cook and neither could most restaurants, and the ones who could only were able to accept CASH!
