In today’s world, where communities can feel more fragmented, acknowledging and supporting the role of women in raising children feels more urgent than ever. I find myself coming back to that idea of the “village” often, not as something nostalgic, but as something we are still trying to rebuild in new ways.
When I think about motherhood today compared to years ago, what stands out most is how much more complex and, at times, contradictory it feels. There is more freedom now, more choice, more voice, more opportunity to travel, to move around the world, change homes. But with that freedom comes a quiet weight that is not always talked about.
