Anyone else feeling overwhelmed with “beginner-friendly” Shopify advice?
Hey everyone 👋
So I’ve been building my store for the past few weeks, and something keeps confusing me. Everywhere online says “dropshipping is easy”, “just find a winning product”, “use TikTok ads”, bla bla… but when you’re actually doing the work, it’s a completely different reality.
Here’s what I’ve noticed so far:
Product research tutorials all contradict each other
Some say “build a general store,” others say niche only
Shipping times seem longer than what influencers advertise
And ad costs… nobody tells beginners how expensive testing can really be.
Honestly, I feel like new store owners get sold a dream, but the real day-to-day stuff feels way more complicated.
So here’s my question to those who have ACTUALLY launched stores (not just watched YouTube):
What was the biggest thing you wish you knew when starting your Shopify brand?
Was there a major mistake or false “advice” you followed at the beginning that set you back?
Would love some real talk from people who’ve been through it. 🙏
