Undiagnosed issue
Hey guys,
I have a wisteria chinensis.
It was air layered 3 years ago and has stabilised ever since.
Last winter, some sort of fungus formed around 2 wounds, although I had carefully covered them with antifungal Japanese putty.
I had cleaned it with a knife and sprayed for fungus the whole plant in spring.
When the wisteria bloomed, I’ve noticed that whole branch actually was dead.
Can someone help me understand what happened?
What is the disease? Is it specific to wisteria? Did it cause the branch to die? If not, why did it happen?
Thanks in advance!
