Pre-filling Drywall
Proper surface preparation is the foundation of quality drywall finishing. Before taping, all gaps, deep joints, and damaged areas should be prefilled with joint compound to create a solid, uniform base. This step prevents air pockets, weak joints, and cracks from forming once the tape is applied. Equally important is cutting out all broken or crushed drywall around seams and corners. Removing damaged board ensures that the tape bonds to clean, firm material.
