Dancing with Flora at the Detroit Institute of Arts
Today I’m at the DIA doing a life study from the “Dancing with Flora” sculpture. I’m focusing on capturing the gesture, weight, and overall movement before committing to any details. Working from sculpture every day has been a game changer—it forces me to think in real 3D, observe form honestly, and simplify complex poses into clear structure. Still rough, but I’m trying to build stronger accuracy and rhythm with each session.
