Summit keynote speaker is….
So pleased to officially announce that Dragon Boat Canada Hall of Famer Jim Farintosh will be kicking off the summit for us on November 7, and it’s a session you don’t want to miss. “Legend” is not a label I give lightly but for Jim it’s actually an understatement. When I was just starting out in the sport I watched his teams with awe. Any race I was at, I made sure I was watching when the Hammerheads were on the course. Little did I know how much more there was to pay attention to!
Among other things, Jim helped launch Canada's dragon boat community, began coaching Canadian dragon boat teams in 1996, acted as a commentator for events like the Canadian Dragon Boat Championships, founded the long-running Bow Wave (Space Coast) training camp in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, started the Pickering Race Camp in Frenchman's Bay, Ontario, and is the author of “Mostly Dragon Boat...Tips, Tales and Lessons Learned.”
