Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:1
“For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
The reality as believers is that Jesus chose to make us His permanent place of residence. When we opened the door of our hearts to Jesus He came into our innermost being, our spirit, and it is in Him that we live, move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).
We have the glory of God living in us. Paul describes this treasure that resides in us, the earthly vessel. What is this treasure? It is Jesus Christ himself. Jesus commands us to attend to His treasury by laying up treasures in heaven.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Our prayer:
Thank you Lord Jesus for making your home in our hearts. Let us purge ourselves of anything that does not make room for you. Please reveal those unclean areas so that we can fully please you and encounter your presence! We welcome you King Jesus!
