Domestic Violence Survivors

My name is LeeAnn Szuflada, and I am a domestic violence survivor, cycle-breaker, and mother of two. My story began long before adulthood—my first experience with abuse started at seven years old. I grew up navigating fear, instability, and manipulation without the words to understand what was happening. As an adult, I entered another abusive relationship, repeating patterns I had been conditioned to accept as normal. Everything changed when I realized my children were beginning to feel the same pain I carried for decades. That moment became my breaking point and my breakthrough. I chose to leave and rebuild our lives from scratch, even when I was told I wouldn’t make it alone. Today, I stand independent, grounded, and proud of the woman I fought to become. Through #OfficeDancerGoneWild, I share my story to give survivors—especially single parents—hope. Healing is slow, but freedom is possible, and every step is worth it.
