SHOULD YOU BE HUNGRY?
  • Some hunger is normal in a calorie deficit — constant hunger is not.
  • Mild hunger means your body is burning stored energy, but you shouldn’t be always starving.
  • It is also important to distinguish between hunger (my body needs nutrients) and cravings (I can’t stop thinking about muffins). This seems simple but can be harder in practice. More to come on this tomorrow.
Try optimizing:
✅ Protein — keeps you full longer
✅ Fiber + volume — fills your stomach (will discuss in a later section)
✅ Quality foods — less cravings when micronutrient needs are met
✅ Sleep & stress — both impact hunger hormones
📝Take home point: You should have mild hunger in the background; this means you are right on track. The goal isn’t to suffer — it’s to sustain.
