All of us have experienced anxiety whether we have given it that particular name or not.
It usually manifests itself as not so nice sensations in our body.
Perhaps a tightening in our chest, a knot in our stomach, the feeling of our airways closing up, or sweaty palms etc.
However Anxiety is not just the sensations in our body it also comes with a unique set of thoughts.
A story that accompanies and gives meaning to the feelings we feel.
The narrative of the story that we attach to the feeling is as important as the feeling itself.
You might have heard the saying βEmotions are Energy in Motionβ.
It is the energy of the feeling directed by our thoughts that create the motion which leads to our behaviour and actions.
The story we tell ourselves about this event convinces us of a future that is yet to come.
It teleports our bodies into a reality that is yet to manifest but that feels just like the real thing in the moment.
The Equation looks something like this:
The Feeling + The Story + the Action(s) = The Experience

So how can we shift the narrative and create the foundations of a brighter future?
Firstly I want to clarify that shifting is not about denying or ignoring. It is the ability to accept a thing as it is but at the same time inspecting them from different perspectives to create a whole picture.
Shifting is transmuting.
What once made you quiver in your boots can be the source of inspiration and courage.
What once paralysed you can excite you and motivate you to take action.
Shifting is a skill that can be applied to different areas of your life.
It provides you with the flexibility to be creative and overcome challenges.
This is the power that we have if we are willing to be present and make a conscious choice instead of just re-acting and re-playing the same scenarios and ultimately re-creating the same experiencing.
With this skill you will develop the ability to create the experience you want.
You will be able to shift from the role of victim to the role of the victor.
The universe could be your co-conspirator or it could be your arch nemisis.
