Acrylic Painting of my Angel 😇
Hellllloooo everyone👋🏼I am currently working on an acrylic portraiture of my late Nana who is with me everyday in the heavenly realms. I feel her strongly protecting and guiding my journey. This comes from an old family photo of her on her wedding day. She loved roses and had a huge rose garden she attended to almost everyday. It was her 'inner peace" garden. She holds a special place in my heart ❤️ and she has impacted a huge part of who I am today.

Idk about you but when I finish a painting, for some reason I lose motivation to share it pretty quickly. Maybe it’s a mental block around rejection sensitivity, maybe it’s just because it’s not as exciting when it’s finished because then it’s on to the next one, maybe it’s something else.. whatever the case may be, I do believe it’s important to share those finished works and embrace the pride that comes with it! I took a lot of time completing these portraits of my good boys because they are really special to me and I was putting a lot of pressure on getting the details accurate. Now that they are finished I am very proud of them and I even hung them at a gallery showing right after I called it complete (the showing actually pushed me to finally complete them an stop putting it off) So heres my two best buddies portraits and I can proudly say how happy I am to have put aside my hesitation, doubt and fear to completed them. 😇 I would love to see some pieces that you are most proud of or that you may have had trouble completing but pushed through and finished anyways! Tell us the story behind it, what challenge you and how you overcame it. Let’s see your artwork friends!!

Just move the needle a little…
I’ve been super busy lately, as we all get sometimes, and I havnt posted much to the group here but I did manage to find time to work on my dogs portrait a bit more recently. (Currently trying to bounce between two at a time 😳😅) I wanted to share an update on that because I’m pros of how it’s coming along 😇 Here’s the challenge, I want to see your latest work in progress or something you’ve completed in the last 6 months. Celebrating our wins helps us all to stay motivated to keep moving forward on them. I want everyone to post something, then find another persons post to comment on and encourage them also 🤩 we all win when we support each other! In still working out the details in this one but I’ve got all my colours blocked in now which is a big plus for this larger painting (16x20”) Mr Picasso doggo will be complete soon though and will live on my walls forever! He is our first family dog, my oldest kids first pet and he’s just the best boy ever. I can’t wait to finish this one up and hang it 🤩 Now let’s see what you’re working on! If it’s been a while then maybe find an excuse to start something new to share with the group and get your motivation back rolling again 😇 I really like the 5 min rule, just start for 5 mins and if it’s not feeling good then you can bail on it, but usually what happens is you get back in the groove and produce more with less effort than anticipated. Or mine is the biggest obstacle, so kick that shit to the curb for five minutes and just feel into something new!

I’ve posted a bit about myself so far but I would love to see what everyone else is working on! Drop a picture of your latest or greatest creations in whatever your medium and style is! Let’s encourage each other and start getting more comfortable sharing our work! Here’s my latest painting I’ve started of my doggo Picasso 😇 he’s been with us for almost 9 years since he was a puppy and is going to be an example for a paint your pet class in tracing this weekend 🤩 I’m hoping to start getting him blocked in with color tomorrow before the class Sunday and I’ll be finishing up details on him between starting another portrait of my other doggo Benny 🙃 I’ve also included a recent memorial pet portrait I did a couple months ago for a friend that inspired this class 😇 now let’s see your work! 😎

Trust the process… trust the process… trust the process..
I found some time to work on one of my doggos pet portraits last night and honestly I was kinda hating it in the moment.. the amount of different shades of white and the curly hair and fluff is kinda driving me crazy but I kept telling myself, just trust the process… after stepping back from it and taking this photo it’s looking better than I thought when I was up close to it and trying to work in a bunch of details, I’m still kinda blocking in colors so I’m in the awkward stage where it’s sorta coming together but still messy. If you’re in that stage of life or an artwork, my reminder to you today is to TRUST THE PROCESS! It will come together if you take it one day, one step at a time. I love that art always brings me back to this message and helps me stay the course even when things look messy and not where you want them to be yet. It will all come together. Just trust the process 😇 and keep moving forward!
