This is a deeply intense week for me. As many of you know, my bodybuilding show is this Saturday.
Right now, I'm in what's called "Peak Week," and it feels like the ultimate test of mind over matter.
For the next three days (today, tomorrow, Wednesday), my protocol is a "strategic depletion."
This means low carbs, low calories—a state that is completely opposite to how I live and what I teach at PowHerFit. It's physically and mentally challenging.
But here's why I'm doing it: This depletion is a setup for a powerful rebound. On Thursday, we begin a precise "refeed" process, flooding my muscles with fuel to look their absolute best on show day.
It’s all a science of timing, resilience, and trusting a difficult process for a powerful result.
The Monday Metaphor: Your "Peak Week"
We all have our own "peak weeks"—those intense, final pushes toward a huge goal. A product launch, a big client presentation, a creative project deadline.
In those moments, you have to be strategic about your resources. You have to:
- Focus intensely (deplete distractions).
- Accept that it's temporarily uncomfortable (the "low energy" days).
- Trust that your preparation will pay off (the strategic "refeed" and final result).
