OpenAI Drops Workspace Agents ~ The Next Evolution of Custom GPTs

Today they dropped workspace agents ~ Codex-powered agents you build once and share across your whole team. The big upgrade? These things don't wait on you to open the app. They run in the cloud, keep working in the background, and plug straight into Slack. Preparing reports, writing code, handling workflows ~ all without you sitting there watching them go.

Think of it as your Custom GPT getting a serious upgrade. Same idea, way more horsepower.

The honest caveat: right now this is enterprise-only ~ ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, Edu, and Teachers plans. Plus and Pro users aren't in yet. But OpenAI confirmed a migration path, so the Custom GPTs you already built will eventually be upgradeable. Nothing you've made is going to waste.

Why it matters to you: AI is shifting from something you open and talk to ~ into infrastructure that runs in the background doing real work. Teams who plug into this early aren't going to look more productive. They're going to look superhuman. This is where it's all going.
