I’m tired. I am VERY TIRED. To the point of desperation. That’s why I’ve taken some very radical steps. More on those at the end of this post. If you bought a shovel at the store, please use it to dig dirt, not chop firewood. And if you fail at chopping firewood with it, don't blame the shovel. That is exactly what’s happening right now with AI and book writing. Lately, I’ve seen so many absurd things that I’m honestly just sitting here in disbelief. :D AI models work perfectly if you stay strictly within the bounds of their capabilities. And unfortunately, those capabilities aren't "unlimited"-there is a set amount of information we can feed into AI models while still keeping the output quality high. The biggest and most glaring mistake is stuffing a Game of Thrones-level plot and character list into an AI model and expecting miracles. Guys. AI models cannot handle 19 characters (yes, that was an actual case from a client). Guys. AI cannot do math-or rather, it can, but it's terrible at it. 🤯----> So please stop asking for hyper-complex Time Travel books where, on top of everything, characters transform, evolve, travel through time and to mystical planets, all while keeping historical facts accurate back on planet Earth. You have to understand that AI isn't a human who can take a tiny prompt context and conjure up storylines worthy of Game of Thrones (massive worlds and lore), Lost (tons of characters and backstories), or Dark (complex time-travel plots) inside its little head. This isn't about BookNova having a "crap" algorithm under the hood. It’s extremely powerful. This is about LLMs-or AI models-being physically unable to process and accurately generate massive amounts of data. Generating 2,000+ words of prose per output is already a massive challenge for LLMs; pulling that off across 30 chapters to deliver >100,000 flawless, accurate words at the end is insanely, insanely, insanely complex. Now, about those radical steps I took: I completely removed the "Literary Fiction" genre. Please, let's stop trying to write literary fiction with AI. AI doesn't know how to write this genre-ONLY HUMANS CAN DO THAT.

The ai wrote incorrect location in Australia and dates in my storybible. How can I edit this so it does not keep feeding the misinformation into every story? BTW I love the app and am really loving using it.

A couple of hours ago a member asked me if they could add one more chapter at the end of their book for a personal note to readers. Great idea, so I built it right away. You can write it yourself, or press Generate text and the AI drafts it for you in the language of your book. It is fully editable, and it is included in the PDF, EPUB, DOCX and Amazon KDP downloads automatically. Small detail I care about: unlike the Foreword and Introduction, which are written spoiler free, the Author's Note knows it sits after the ending, so it speaks to a reader who has just finished your story. My niche is for historical fiction. Specifically the American Revolutionary War and Civil War. I was using the literary fiction format, which has been deleted. I am needing to add some realistic battle scenes amid such along with my story line. Of the options left, which would be the best for me to use? I am thinking thriller at this time.
