To experience the zipline you had to take the wooden stairs all the way up to the instructors who waited patiently at the very top for those who were confident enough to take this challenge. Ziplining is a very serious activity which requires one to be very brave. Truth is, i just wanted to do the zipline so that i would cancel it from my bucket list. My mom refused upfront to try it and opted for the quadbike and i really understood where she was coming from. Indeed, the zipline was for mavericks and heroines who were not faint hearted. It was for those individuals who were born to conquer any obstacle infront of them. There was no way out of this situation because my sister had already paid for the activities beforehand. Climbing the stairs one at a time and looking down at the distance from the ground to where i was going gave me some goosebumps but i kept on moving forward. Consolation wise, my sister was also developing cold feet so i decided to be brave for the two of us since i was the oldest.
We reached the top and i decided not to look down because it seemed like i was far up in the sky. The people below looked like ants from my point of view but i decided to man up and be done with it. Fear of heights or vertigo was going to be the death of us. Whilst the instructors were busy preparing us for the zipline i kept chanting a silent prayer. What if what if i fell down straight into the lake below. One of them asked if the belts were tight enough for me to breathe and i just nodded because fear of the zipline had got my tongue. Then i thought about how exciting it would be to run with the wind because the guys that had done the zipline before us had looked comfortable and very excited judging by the sound of their boisterous laughter that they were making. Their energy made the experience to look less frightening. One, two and three the instructor counted bu we never budged. At that moment my sister started begging for a raincheck but that did not come to pass.
No one was going to bail out on this excursion because the instructor just pushed us and suddenly we were free falling. It was so frightening and exciting all at the same time. Talk about mixed feelings, i shouted, screamed and laughed the whole time to the other side of the lake. If the instructor hadn't pushed us we were not going anywhere and if we hadn't decided on the twin zipline then i wouldn't have lived to regale this exciting adventure. All in all, the memorable experience changed my perception of the zipline in general. The zipline is one of a kind because i had an aerial view of the lake and the skywalk to boot. Thus, the wind caressed my face and the rope made a sound that whoever was on the ground was forced to look up. Let's just say, all eyes were on us for some minutes. We stopped traffic and i bonded with my sister because she knew we would be safe as long as we were by each other's side.
