I have been mulling over something lately...Where is everyone?
Seriously. Did I miss a memo? Was there a mass alien abduction? Did everybody win the lottery and move to a private island without inviting me?
Because it’s getting awfully quiet around here.
Let’s review what you’ve got access to in Digital Edge.
You get live access to me at least TWICE a week. Some weeks, THREE times. That’s multiple opportunities to pick my brain, ask questions, get feedback, troubleshoot problems, or just show up and tell me I’m full of shit.
And believe me, I know plenty of people who would happily take that last opportunity.
We’ve got training calls covering everything from getting your first client to scaling an agency. We’ve got a classroom full of courses, resources, templates, systems, and tools.
We’ve got daily posts covering prospecting, sales, marketing, operations, mindset, AI, and pretty much every other aspect of running an agency short of teaching your dog to handle client onboarding.
Although, frankly, some dogs might do a better job than certain agency owners I’ve encountered.
And yet… crickets.
Training calls? Ghost town.
Comments? Apparently rationed like toilet paper during COVID.
Questions? I assume everyone has achieved complete enlightenment and no longer needs answers.
Posts? I’m starting to think the comment button requires a blood sacrifice.
At this point, I’m basically hosting a podcast for an audience of invisible people, except I don’t have sponsors, nobody’s sending me free stuff, and I’m pretty sure my wife is tired of hearing me talk about marketing.
Now, I realize I’m not everybody’s cup of tea.
I’m more like gas station coffee that’s been sitting on the burner since 5 AM. A little bitter, occasionally offensive, but I’ll damn sure wake you up.
Maybe my dazzling personality isn’t enough. Maybe I need to start juggling flaming chainsaws during training calls. Maybe I should give away a free toaster to anyone who leaves a comment.
Or maybe I should start every training with, “The secret to making $50K a month with AI while working 11 minutes a week.”
Apparently, that shit gets attention.
But here’s the thing.
I didn’t build Digital Edge so people could collect courses like Pokémon cards.
I built it to help people actually build businesses. To create a place where agency owners could ask questions, share wins, admit they’re struggling, exchange ideas, and help each other get better.
And here’s a little secret: You don’t have to know what the hell you’re doing to participate.
You don’t need a six-figure agency. You don’t need a polished success story. You don’t even need a particularly intelligent question.
Hell, look at me. I’ve built multiple businesses while making an impressive number of questionable decisions. Some of my best lessons came from doing something incredibly stupid and figuring out how to recover.
That’s called experience. Or poor judgment. Sometimes both.
But lurking in the shadows, consuming content, and never actually engaging?
That’s not building a business. That’s Netflix with homework.
So I’m genuinely asking: What the hell is it going to take?
Do we need different training topics? Different call times? More accountability? Less structure? More interaction? A weekly group therapy session for people traumatized by clients who say, “I just have one little change”?
Or do I need to start showing up to calls wearing a chicken suit?
Because I’m not ruling that out.
I want to know what’s keeping you from participating.
Too busy? Intimidated? Don’t know what to ask? Not finding the content useful? Just here for the free stuff? Waiting for me to finally say something intelligent?
That last one could take a while.
Seriously, tell me.
I’m not looking for compliments or a bunch of “You’re doing great, Dorn!” comments. I’m looking for actual feedback.
What’s working? What’s not? What would make this community something you WANT to participate in instead of another notification you ignore?
And if you’re one of the silent lurkers reading this right now, congratulations.
This is your official invitation to come out of witness protection.
Leave a comment. Even if it’s just to tell me to shut up.
At least I’ll know somebody’s alive in here.
P.S. If this post gets zero comments, I’m replacing all future training calls with dramatic readings of my old cold emails.or bad reddit fiction. Nobody deserves that.
