A recent Firstpost analysis by Palki Sharma highlights why the creator economy isn’t what most people think.
Creators are working till midnight, phone storages are getting full.
The Indian creator economy is busy with reels but reality says it all.
The numbers are:
• India has 2–2.5 million active creators
• 4 million people chasing virality
• The industry is worth $1.5B today.
• It influences $350B in consumer spending
• By 2030? $1 trillion (with a T)
Above data is promising with 2.5 million creators but only 8-10 percent are making meaningful money that are making 2-2.5 lakh people earning consistently.
Remaining 88 percent are barely making ₹15–20K/month or less.

So who’s really winning?
The winner here are platforms.
