Why Devoted Exists Birth work is holy, beautiful, demanding, and at times deeply depleting. We care so much—and sometimes we do not have the care we need in return. We need biblically-rooted resources for our clients,for our practices, and for our own weary hearts. We need spaces where we are understood— not only as clinicians, attendants, or helpers— but as Believers who carry Jesus into the work of birth. I know this need intimately. As a seasoned, solo-practice midwife in rural Washington, I searched for a place where I could find guidance, rest, support, and language that knit together faith and birth. I longed for someone who “got me,” someone who understood the weight I carried. And when I couldn’t find it, the Lord whispered: Build it. For yourself. And for others. So here it is.
