Welcome to the Material Arranging Project. This is a simple place to begin. You'll find a short welcome, a quick tour of The Material Arranging Project (MAP), and a few things to help you feel at home and stay connected.

An introduction to the ideas behind material arranging--why the simple act of noticing, choosing, placing, responding, and rearranging materials can create opportunities for attention, choice, experimentation, and discovery.

Simple ways to begin material arranging with what you have. Gather a few materials, choose a surface, and start exploring.

A simple introduction to your DesignBoard--its flexible structure, movable dividers, and the many ways you can begin exploring with materials.

A growing collection of ideas for exploring, experimenting, creating, and connecting with your DesignBoard and materials in different ways.

A simple way to experience material arranging-- right from your printer. Print, cut out, and explore a collection of fall-inspired materials, background pieces, an open tray, and a divided DesignBoard™. There's nothing you need to make and no right way to arrange the pieces. Simply notice what interests you, move things around, try something different, and see what emerges. Arrange. Rearrange. And begin again.
