Hello and Welcome
Here's a link that has some good information for the caregivers. Since I am also dealing with memory issues I can give a few pointers about that too. https://www.alzheimers.gov/life-with-dementia/tips-caregivers I began to have visible issues around 2018. It was not apparent until I got lost while driving to work on I-35 southbound in Carrollton, Tx., or so I've been told. Several hospital stays, a few incorrect diagnosis's, a spinal tap, at least one nursing home residency, and a broken hip ... I was very Blessed to be taken in by my youngest daughter for a year and slowly I've been "waking up". I currently live with my parent and my mom is a SAINT !!! I require minimal supervision but she also deals with my dad who has much greater memory and personality issues. Dementia can cause memory issues, changes in personality, muscle movement control, loss of balance, and other issues too. Earlier I have been told I struck my mom while trying to exit her car while traveling around 60 mph. I was having seizures, hallucinations, incontinence, and more ... THIS IS NO JOKE !!! Anyway, I want to share and give hope that there can be improvement in the quality of life for both patient and caretaker. Please share both your stories anonymously and other coping methods or skills that you have found beneficial. This is meant to be a forum for help and support. In a couple of weeks I will have to pay for this site so right now I'm checking to see in there's any interest. Thank you & God Bless, Michael
