For the last 16 years, I’ve worked in automotive retail. Most of my career has been spent in Fixed Operations — service, parts, processes, profitability, technician development, customer experience, and the systems that actually make a dealership work. And I’ve learned something: A dealership is only as strong as the connection between its departments. Sales affects Service. Service affects Sales. Parts affects both. Accounting affects everyone. And leadership ultimately determines whether all of those pieces work together — or work against each other. That’s what I want The Automotive Perspective to be about. Not another place to argue about whether salespeople make too much money. Not another place to complain about customers. Not another place to repeat the same dealership buzzwords. A place to talk about how automotive retail actually works. I don’t pretend to know everything. In fact, one of the reasons I’m building this is because I want to learn from people who have spent their careers in areas I haven’t. But what I do know, I’m willing to share.
