Hallow
The night descends, a heavy cloak,
Each thought a stab, each word a poke.
Silence screams, a deafening sound,
As hope lies shattered on the ground.
I don't really care if I wake up tomorrow,
This constant fight, this endless sorrow.
The world was bright, a vibrant hue,
Now just a canvas, painted blue.
My children were my world, a guiding star,
Now distant echoes, faint and far.
A hollow ache, a vacant space,
Where love once bloomed with gentle grace.
Being independent and self-sufficient was everything to me and it’s gone,
A bitter truth, a mournful song.
The strength I held, now slips away,
Lost in shadows, come what may.
Trusting the wrong people changed my life
and now I don’t care if I live or die,
A broken vow, a whispered lie.
The path ahead, a darkened maze,
In this abyss, I spend my days.
Let darkness claim this weary soul,
Release me from this heavy toll.
No dawn I seek, no light I crave,
Just endless sleep within the grave.
