Live class for Adults is happening in 10 hours
Free Live Class for Adult Trombone Players This Thursday
Hey everyone! I’m doing a free live online class this Thursday evening specifically for adult trombone players who want to get better at jazz improvisation. The class is called: "How to Start Playing Better Jazz Trombone Solos Without Getting Lost in a Million Scales, Licks, and Random Tips" This will be especially helpful if you’re an adult player who has ever felt like: You understand some theory, but still don’t know what to actually play. You practice scales, patterns, or licks, but they don’t turn into real solos. You want to sound more musical, confident, and expressive, but you’re not sure what to focus on. In this class, I’ll show you: **1. How to start playing real solos instead of just collecting more information** **2. How to focus your practice so you actually build confidence** **3. A simple way to make progress even if you only have a few minutes a day to practice** I’ll also talk about the practice approach I use with adult students to help them connect technique, ear training, and improvisation into one clearer path. This class is mainly for adult players because I’ll also be talking about a deeper mentorship opportunity at the end for people who want more structured help. Date: Thursday, July 2 Time: 8:00pm Eastern Register here: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_gIzE1th7RHWw1nzvJQ_eWQ Hope to see some of you there!
FREE private lesson (even if you've already had a trial)...
Hi Everyone! I’m offering a free private lesson to a few people in this community, even if you’ve already done a trial lesson with me or already take regular lessons. Why? Because I'm looking to get a few more testimonials from students, so I can use them for promotion and in future posts. So here’s what I'm offering: I’ll give 5 people (individually) a free 30-minute lesson. In exchange, I'll ask you to do a short testimonial about any way(s) I've helped you in your trombone/music/jazz journey. So if you’re interested, please comment “Me” below or just DM me and I’ll send you the details. The free lesson offer expires in 48 hours (since I'm trying to get this next promo going ASAP). Only 5 available!
playing a horn alone?
Guitar and keyboard players can easily make music on their own. Of course, we horn players can also use backing tracks but they are static. Once you know them, there is no surprise any longer. Having a practice buddy is more fun, let alone a whole ensemble. That is where it gets heavy. You need a rehearsal room, you have to go to the place, carry your gear, your music and so on. Maybe you play already in an ensemble but you look forward to discovering other people, in other cities, other countries and make music with them as if you were together in the same room. People did that during the pandemic. Everybody has seen these tiled videos where individual tracks were recorded asynchronously and then edited together. Better than nothing but not much fun. You can do this in real-time, a bit like Zoom but with latencies so short that you really play together. You can watch while it happens on Wednesday 24 June 2026 at 20.00 Paris time (2:00 pm EST) https://www.jacktrip.com/@5QVSfiEohpqJO6mdu3wJ5 You can expect a real-time online Jazz jam session, just work in progress, we do our best knowing people are watching us, but we are not concerned with perfection. What matters more is to overcome nerves and play. We perform a set of 12 tune in one and a half ours. Most of us have left our adolescence some years behind but that does not matter. When I was 15, I was playing with guys 4 or 5 times my age.
