DANCE MINDSET SHIFT OF THE WEEK
“You don’t have to be the best. You just have to be present.”
This week I pushed myself to freestyle. Something I’ve always felt anxious about.
The fear?
That I’d freeze.
That it wouldn’t look good.
That I wouldn’t be “enough.”
But when I stopped trying to impress and started trying to enjoy, something shifted.
  • I moved more freely
  • I recorded without judgment
  • I actually had fun
And it hit me: Perfection blocks expression. Presence sets it free.
So here’s your reminder. You don’t have to be the cleanest, the fastest, the most flexible, or even the most trained. You just have to show up, feel the music, and move with honesty.
Let’s keep building that kind of dance practice here. One that’s focused on growth, presence, and freedom—not pressure.
