Development in Progress
Iโ€™ve been in a reflective place lately, and I wanted to be honest about where Iโ€™m at. This past year and a half, I pushed into entrepreneurship slowed down my security work, tried gig life, experimented with building something of my own. At first it felt promising, but recently Iโ€™ve hit a wall. The effort is high, the return is inconsistent, and when I run the numbers, it feels like Iโ€™m putting in more than Iโ€™m getting out. Thatโ€™s been tough to admit. It even made me ask myself: โ€œDid I waste my time?โ€ Even though I know these experiences taught me a lot discipline, risk, resilience, clarity Iโ€™m still feeling the weight of this moment. My confidence dipped. My motivation got cloudy. And I realized Iโ€™m still very much in my own development process. I post Stoicism, Scripture, and personal growth content, but Iโ€™m right here in the trenches too. Still learning. Still adjusting. Still becoming. If anyone has gone through a season like this, Iโ€™d appreciate your perspective or a word of encouragement. How did you handle that point where your faith in the path got shaky?

Walk-through Go-Giver
Write your personal definition of value in 1โ€“2 sentences. I would say value isnโ€™t measured in dollars itโ€™s measured in time. Whatโ€™s truly valuable lasts, shows up in your daily life, shapes how you move through chaos, and continues to teach you long after the moment has passed.

๐Ÿ“š Next Up in Our Reading Lineup โ€” Help Me Choose
Alright Tribe time for the next chapter in our growth journey. Iโ€™m about to pick up two new books for us to break down here on Skool where we donโ€™t just read, we extract wisdom, dissect life strategies, and apply the lessons in real time. I want to pick books that will push us in the areas that matter most: ๐Ÿ”น Family ๐Ÿ”น Business / finances ๐Ÿ”น Personal discipline & resilience ๐Ÿ”น Spiritual growth & mindset Here are the contenders ๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ”ฅ Book Options 1๏ธโƒฃ โ€œAtomic Habitsโ€ โ€” James Clear The system behind self-discipline, routine, and daily change. 2๏ธโƒฃ โ€œThe Ruthless Elimination of Hurryโ€ โ€” John Mark Comer Spiritual discipline, focus, peace, and slowing down to hear God. 3๏ธโƒฃ โ€œThe Way of the Superior Manโ€ โ€” David Deida Masculinity, purpose, relationships, and leadership. 4๏ธโƒฃ โ€œThe 5 Love Languagesโ€ โ€” Gary Chapman Marriage/family book practical tools for connection. 5๏ธโƒฃ โ€œThe Psychology of Moneyโ€ โ€” Morgan Housel How emotions affect wealth, decision-making, and legacy. Once I select the two books, the Skool plan will be: โœ” Weekly summary posts โœ” Pulling quotes that hit hard โœ” Real-life application challenges โœ” Live call / Q&A on the biggest takeaways โœ” Discussion threads where everyone can leave experiences & wins Which TWO books do you want us to dive into first? ๐Ÿ‘‡ Comment โ€œ#1 & #3โ€ style format so I can tally easily. If you have a book you think belongs on this list โ€” drop it. Weโ€™re not reading to โ€œcollect informationโ€โ€ฆ weโ€™re reading to become dangerous in real life emotionally, spiritually, financially, and relationally. Letโ€™s level up together. ๐Ÿ“˜โš”๏ธ

๐Ÿ“Œ The Go-Giver โ€” Chapters 1โ€“4
Mindset Shift / Notes / Application Just finished Chapters 1โ€“4 and this book is hitting way harder than I expected. Ch. 1 โ€” The Go-Getter Joe is all hustle and pressure chasing the next deal, thinking one more win will change everything. I felt called out on this one. That โ€œone more ride / one more hour / one more dollarโ€ loopโ€ฆ hustling hard but not always gaining ground. Ch. 2 โ€” The Secret of Success Pindar flips the formula: success isnโ€™t earned by taking itโ€™s earned by giving. Not pushing harderโ€ฆ but serving deeper. That alone is a mindset shift. Ch. 3 โ€” The Law of Value โ€œYour true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.โ€ Value isnโ€™t what you charge, but what they feel they gained. Ch. 4 โ€” The Law of Compensation โ€œYour income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.โ€ Serve more people โ†’ serve them better โ†’ success multiplies. ๐Ÿ’ฌ My Take So Far These chapters didnโ€™t just teach business they touched belief. This reminded me of faith and the principle of being a cheerful giver: When you give without keeping score, you arenโ€™t drained youโ€™re filled. God blesses open hands, not closed fists. And on the practical side, Gary Vee has been preaching this for years in media: Give value โ†’ give value โ†’ give value โ†’ then you earn the right to ask. People donโ€™t follow you because of what you want they follow you because of what you give. Hustle with pressure = exhaustion Hustle with generosity = momentum The shift is clear: Donโ€™t chase opportunity. Become the person opportunity chases.
