YK-11 — Often Called a SARM, Mechanistically Messier
What it is: Commonly grouped with SARMs, but it behaves differently (often discussed as myostatin-related). This "SARM" falls into the same category as the notorious "Tren" whereas, it can be classed both as a "SARM" or a "Steroid" due to its highly selective receptor activation.
Research snapshot: Limited quality human data
What users report: Strength/fullness, sometimes rapid “look” changes; also higher acne reports. Out of all the SARMs, this one was by far my favorite for a "Recomp" look. I leaned out incredibly quickly, while adding significant size.
Common downsides: Acne, joint/tendon complaints in some anecdotes, suppression concerns, unknown long-term risk. Joint issues were a problem for me, since strength gains were so rapid. This is the only SARM that caused me to shed hair.
Watch-outs: Fast strength jumps can outpace connective tissue adaptation—injury risk goes up.
