Remember the game is progress over perfection and awareness is the foundation. In this week's reflection for movement, let's address a common challenge that most people face. Typically missed exercise days snowball physically and mentally.
A simple solution is developing the lowest effort action that one step/level above doing nothing. Easy enough that you can do it as a worst case scenario instead of letting the moment slip away. I can be something as simple as walking up and down a flight of stairs, waiting to a wall or door on the other side of the room then walking back, or push-ups, jumping jacks, jump rope, etc. Whatever makes sense for your fitness level. Because awareness through remembering you should do something, then back-up by any small form of activity (consistently over time), is enough to get the momentum going. Also, and lastly, don't get upset at yourself for missing a day. Instead focus on not missing two days in a row.
We're changing our behavior patterns overtime to our NEW history reflects who we're becoming. Continuing being great!... and yes, I know it's a daily challenge, but it's worth progressing towards since the time will pass anyway.
Feel free to share your observations even if this "movement" week has passed!
