FA practice opportunity: value of community
Part of the goal of this CB space is to continually mature your Functional Adult by providing a safe space in which to unfold into who you really are. The daily practice of reparenting your Littles rewires your nervous system. As social creatures, we are hard wired to need connection and belonging to obtain safety and meaning. The way that our American society is structured is to produce people who are anti dependent and codependent. This is the back and forth dance between Adaptive Teen and Wounded Child. In my experience as a clinician of over 20 years, we all -every single one of us- has attachment “issues” due to how we were parented, the beliefs of society, and the very real unconscious impact of collective trauma due to settler colonialism, white body supremacy, patriarchy, and capitalism. Watch this analysis by @doss.discourse and then explore the following: 1. Who is driving their bus? (“They”: men doing the active harm.) 2. What are the feelings they might be feeling? 3. What do those adaptive parts need to hear to be able to access their functional adult? What boundary needs to be set? 4. Questions or insights when you explore this based on your experience? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVUbl5vEkvu/?igsh=MTQ2aHhhZnEwZDUwMg==
