The Spider Stitch, a pretty textured stitch pattern made by working (single crochet, chain 1, single crochet) in the same stitch or space.
How to Crochet the Spider Stitch
The Spider Stitch is:
(Sc, Ch 1, Sc) in the same stitch or space
That full group makes one Spider Stitch.
WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:
Each Spider Stitch creates a small open “V” or fan-like shape.
As rows build, the new Spider Stitches are worked into the chain-1 spaces from the row below.
How to Work It
- Insert hook into the indicated stitch or chain-1 space.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop.
- Yarn over, pull through 2 loops. You have made a single crochet.
- Chain 1.
- Insert hook into the same stitch or space.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop.
- Yarn over, pull through 2 loops.
You have now made a single crochet in the same spot.
That completes one Spider Stitch:(Sc, Ch 1, Sc)
