๐ก Your ChexSystems Options
Unlike traditional credit bureau disputes, ChexSystems and Early Warning disputes require a different strategy.
โ
Option 1: Wait It Out
โณ Most ChexSystems records remain on your report for up to 5 years before they are eligible to fall off automatically.
โ
Option 2: Pay for Possible Removal
๐ฆ Visit the financial institution that reported you.
โ๏ธ Pay the overdraft balance and any applicable fees.
๐ Ask to speak with a branch manager and briefly explain your previous financial hardship.
๐ค Ask if they are willing to remove the negative reporting after payment.
IMPORTANT: If they agree, do not leave without getting the agreement in writing and signed by the manager.
โ
Option 3: Dispute Inaccurate Information
Step 1๏ธโฃ Request Your Consumer Disclosure Report
๐ Visit:
Request your Consumer Disclosure Report to see exactly what's being reported.
๐ฌ Reports can take up to 15 days to arrive.
