The world feels chaotic right now — the economy, politics, even the weather. But chaos isn’t always destruction. Sometimes it’s energy waiting for direction. The Northern Lights are born from solar storms colliding with our atmosphere — literal chaos made luminous. That’s what creativity does, too. It takes disruption and refracts it into something meaningful, something beautiful. You don’t have to calm the storm to create. You just have to learn to paint with it. Where in your life feels chaotic right now — and what color could it become if you looked at it through the lens of creation instead of control?

True story: I went to a Chamber of Commerce breakfast event this morning, and somehow…I won a Christmas tree on Veteran's Day. Not the raffle. Not a gift card. The actual, tabletop-sized, candy-cane-striped Christmas tree. I spent the rest of the breakfast with it on my lap because it didn't fit on the table, and then jingled all the way to my car afterward. It’s now officially the newest member of The Creative Life Lab—because sometimes creativity is about planning, and sometimes it’s about saying yes when the universe hands you a surprise. So, please welcome Captain Creative, my new T(ree)A here at Creative Life Lab. Her main duties include boosting morale, holding seasonal office hours, and reminding me that growth takes time (and sometimes glitter). She’ll be redecorated throughout the year to match our themes, so consider this her onboarding announcement. Sometimes you make new friends, sometimes you win the tree, and sometimes you get both. Where could you bring a little more play or randomness into your week? Not everything has to make sense to be a win. 😉 (Photo evidence attached!)
