I’m Chavisa Woods, an award-winning literary author and professional grant writer with more than two decades of experience helping artists, writers, and social justice organizations secure the funding they need to grow. I curated multiple literary and interdisciplinary events as a participating artists in the 2022 Whitney Biennial, an experience that shaped my approach to creative funding and narrative strategy.
I’ve served as the Executive Director of a diverse arts nonprofit, taught writing workshops, secured funding for individual artists and small presses, and managed multi-million-dollar contracts for social justice organizations. I specialize in helping creative people gain clarity, develop unique projects, and write applications that actually get funded. My goal is to make the grant process feel clear, grounded, and achievable for anyone with a meaningful vision.
