Thinking of having your wedding at a private villa? Read this first…
It’s one of the most common things couples say to me: "We’re thinking of renting a villa or family home… it will be more relaxed and probably cheaper than a venue, right?" I completely understand the appeal. A villa wedding feels:– Intimate– Personal– Beautifully Mediterranean– Like a “home away from home” experience And yes… it can be absolutely incredible. But here’s the part most couples don’t realise 👇 A villa is NOT a wedding venue. Which means… you are essentially building a full wedding from scratch. ✨ The Pros of a Villa Wedding ✔️ Total privacy — it’s your space, your people, your atmosphere ✔️ No set rules or rigid timelines (timelines depending on where the villa is of course, if it's in a residential area and you have neighbours close by then it might be much more limited than you think) ✔️ Unique setting ✔️ You can create something truly personal and different For the right couple, this is magic. ⚠️ The Reality (and the Cons) This is where expectations vs reality can clash a little… A villa typically does NOT include:– Catering facilities– Professional kitchen– Staff– Furniture– Lighting– Power infrastructure for events– Sound system– Bathrooms for large guest numbers– Parking/logistics setup So everything needs to be brought in. And I mean everything. 💸 The Biggest Myth: “It’s cheaper” In most cases… it’s not. By the time you add:– Catering setup– Furniture hire– Generator & power distribution– Lighting & production– Bathrooms– Transport logistics– Setup & breakdown teams You are often at the same level — or higher — than a fully equipped wedding venue. 💭 So… is a villa wedding a bad idea? Not at all. But it’s a different type of wedding. ✔️ If you want a highly curated, design-led experience✔️ If you love the idea of building something from the ground up✔️ If you have the right guidance (this part matters more than you think) …it can be one of the most special weddings you’ll ever experience. 🤍 My honest advice Don’t choose a villa because you think it will save money.

🤍 WHY I CREATED THIS SPACE
I grew up in Jávea. This coastline, this light, this way of life — it has always been home. — But like many people, I left. I moved back to the UK to study and began my career in theatre production —a world built on detail, timing, atmosphere and storytelling. Looking back now, I realise how much that shaped everything I do today. — Around 10 years ago, I came back. And I found my way into the wedding industry here on the Costa Blanca. What started as a new chapter quickly became something much bigger. — Over the years, I’ve worked with couples from all over the world, planning weddings across this region and beyond. And one thing has always been consistent: Most people arrive here with no real understanding of how it all works Not because they haven’t tried —but because this world isn’t always as transparent as it could be. — There is so much information, but very little clarity So many options, but very little guidance — And that’s why I created this space. — A place where: • Couples can ask questions openly • Decisions feel more informed, not overwhelming • And planning becomes something you actually enjoy — But also… For those starting out in the industry —planners, creatives, people building something of their own here — a space to learn, understand and grow with real insight. — This isn’t about selling. It’s about sharing what I’ve learned over the years in a way that is honest, calm and genuinely helpful. — If you’re here, you’re very welcome 🤍

🤍 WHY I CREATED THIS SPACE
Catering — where most of your budget actually goes
And also…where couples are most caught off guard. — Most wedding catering companies in Spain will include what sounds like a “full catering package”: • A welcome drink• A cocktail (drinks reception after the ceremony) Around 8–18 canapés over 90 minutes with beer, wines and soft drinks. • A three-course seated dinner (or four course) On paper, this feels complete. But in reality…this is just the foundation — What many couples don’t realise is that the experience — the part your guests actually remember — comes from everything added on top. And this is where budgets quietly start to increase. — For a more curated, Mediterranean-style experience, couples often choose to include: • Show cooking stations during the cocktail (live chefs preparing paella, seafood, or local dishes in front of guests) • A jamón cortador (a professional ham cutter — a traditional and very elegant Spanish touch, where Iberian ham is carved fresh throughout the reception) • Signature drinks moments His & Hers cocktails, Aperol or Mojito bars — very popular, especially in warmer months • Extended or upgraded drinks selections beyond what is initially included • An open bar after dinner which is almost always treated as a separate element — None of this is “extra” in the sense of luxury… It’s what creates:👉 atmosphere👉 flow👉 guest experience — The challenge is simply this: Most couples don’t factor these elements in at the beginning because they don’t yet know how a wedding here actually unfolds. — This is exactly where planning becomes strategic rather than reactive. Knowing: • what matters • what doesn’t • and when to invest makes a significant difference to both your experience and your budget. — I could go much deeper into this (and I will) But this is one of the areas we guide our couples through very closely — either one-to-one or inside this space. 🤍

Catering — where most of your budget actually goes
What €30K vs €100K actually looks like
The difference isn’t what most couples think. It’s not just “more flowers” or “nicer décor”…It’s structure, decisions, and knowing where to invest. And this is where most people get it wrong —before they’ve even started. I see it every single year. — I’ve created something private for couples who want clarity before making big decisions. A space where you understand:– What’s worth it– What’s not– And how to plan this properly Creative Collective Private Club
