Here's where the painting in today's process vid drop is now..
I've been consciously slow with this tiny painting. Many interesting passages happen in the process, but I'm not interested in keeping cool marks that don't further my aim. I want intentionality. So first I have to figure out what my aim is. It starts with a feeling of enjoyment in composition and subject and the desire to convey that. And it is combined with a joy that I have found over and over in simplifying. So where is the perfect meeting place of doing my subject (my experience and point of view) justice in a way that I enjoy creating and in a way that creates an outcome that excites me? That's the work. That's voice.
